IBU, PARTNER OF THE WORKSHOP ON BALKAN RESEARCH HELD AT ISTANBUL UNIVERSITY

A Workshop on Balkan Research organized by Istanbul University, International Balkan University and International University of Sarajevo was held on 6 February 2018 in Istanbul. The Workshop addressed the problems, challenges, policies of education, science and research in the Balkan region and emphasized the importance of intensive cooperation of various institutions of Turkey and countries of this region. The workshop was attended by several rectors of universities, representatives of governmental and educational institutions, academics and researchers.

The Rector of IBU, Prof. Dr. Ismail Kocayusufoglu in his presentation stated that IBU in Skopje, together with IUS in Sarajevo are highly dedicated to the mission of providing qualitative education ot the next generations. He informed the workshop participants that IBU was ranked the best university in Macedonia in the field of teaching and learning according to the Shanghai university ranking. He noted that this workshop was organized in the right time and with a very noble aim, and that is opening doors to cooperation between Turkey and Balkans, with particular focus on education and research.

In the margins of the workshop, IBU and Istanbul University rectors signed a protocol of cooperation under the Mevlana Exchange Programme, providing a unique opportunity for their academic staff and students to share their experiences and best practises.
