PUBLIC LECTURE BY H.E. PROF. DR. MILAN JAZBEC, AMBASSADOR OF SLOVENIA TO SKOPJE

A public lecture on the topic “Slovenia and EU: Experiences and Lessons Learned” delivered by H.E. Prof. Dr. Milan Jazbec, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Skopje was held at International Balkan University on Tuesday, 21st February 2017.
In his presentation in front of an audience that included the university management, academic staff and students of IBU, Ambassador Jazbec discussed on the integration process of Slovenia in the Europian Union, the reforms that his country had to undertake prior to and after its integration in EU, the benefits from the membership and the experiences of the Slovene society and state in its transformation from a former Yugoslav entity into a EU member-country.
In his address in front of the audience, Ambassador Jazbec used the opportunity to introduce Ms. Sara Ajdini, assistant to the Ambassador, an IBU alumni and currently graduate student at Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, as an example how students of IBU prosper in their careers and in the best way possible confirm the authenticity of the university’s motto – “we educate the leaders of tomorrow”.
In memory of his lecture at IBU, Rector of IBU, Prof. Dr. Ismail Kocayusufoglu awarded the Ambassador with a certificate of appreciation and a gift – a painting by a student of Faculty of Art and Design.
