He is a moral philosopher, whoestablished a school of movement in TurkeybyhavingpublishedtheJournal of OpinionandMoevement (Original in Turkish: Fikir ve Sanatta Hareket Dergisi) in 1939. Inaddition, thisjournal has made a bigimpact in Turkey.Thisresearchwascarriedoutbyutilizingdocumentanalysisfromqualitativeresearchmethods. Inthisregard, the role of schoolandteacher in moral andcharactereducation is examined in thisresearchbyanalzing Nurettin Topçu’sarticlesandotherrelatedpapers on moral andcharactereducation in Hareket journalbetween 1939-1953 wereexamined. Accordingto Topçu, thespirit, which is thenurture of heartandemotions is themostneglectedactthesedays. Theheartsandsouls of childrenaredevastated on thegroundsthattheyare not suitableforinterestsortherealities of life. Thesociety is transformedintoconcretesoulsbysanctifyingthetechnique, theoreticalnegligencewiththelogic of themanwhodoesmuchwork, unfortunately. Processinghumanvaluesrequiresgreatskillandpatience. Therefore, theteachermust be a humanarchitectmost of all. On theotherhand, themostimportantmethod in moral education is to be a model. Iftheteachercannot be a good role-model tothechild, she/he cannot be successful in moral education.
