It is very important for pre-service teachers to analyze and review scientific research and carry out original research for their professional developments. It was aimed to reveal out the level of knowledge and skill of reviewing literature and reporting a research of students who write a research report for the first time in a course. In accordance with this purpose, research reports of students who took the course of “Scientific Research Methods” and “Literature Review and Report Writing” were examined by using descriptive model. 22 Guidance and Psychological Counseling and 30 Early Childhood Education Program students at a foundation university at 2017-2018 school year created the study group of research. Appropriate sampling was used while creating the study group. Research reports of students were examined by the researchers using a classification form. Research reports were analized by using descriptive analysis. The validity of the form was obtained from the lecturers. In line with the titles in the form, homeworks were examined and themes were created. The categories created according to themes are “sexual abuse, psychological adjustment, personal guidance, vocational guidance, educational guidance, support services, social media”. At the end of the analysis process which was conducted independently by the researchers, percentage of conformity between researchers calculated as %94, so the reliability of research wa interpreted as high. Consequently, the results revealed that most of reports were written in accordance with APA6 standards. It can be considered as positive outcomes of conducting lessons by giving examples after theoretical parts of courses, writing related part of research subjects in every week, and deliver a research proposal to the instructor at the end of term.
