The Legal Clinic at International Balkan University (IBU) organized an insightful panel discussion in observance of the World Day of Social Justice, bringing together experts and academics to highlight the importance of social justice and human rights protection.

The event featured distinguished speakers who shared their perspectives on the role of legal education, advocacy, and institutional support in fostering social justice.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikola Dacev, Dean of the IBU Faculty of Law, underscored the fundamental principles of human rights and the necessity of their protection in ensuring a just society. He emphasized that social justice is rooted in the fair and equal treatment of all individuals, which requires continuous legal and institutional support.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Ebru Ibish, a faculty member and Coordinator of the IBU Legal Clinic, highlighted the pivotal role of legal clinics in providing primary and secondary legal aid. She stressed that legal education and pro bono assistance are essential tools in addressing legal inequalities and empowering disadvantaged communities.

Addressing the challenges faced by marginalized groups, Prof. Dr. Agim Nuhiu, President of the Association for Social Justice, spoke about the necessity of protecting vulnerable populations. He called for stronger legislative frameworks and community initiatives to prevent discrimination and social exclusion.

Mr. Muhamet Toci, Secretary General of the Association for Social Justice, emphasized the critical role of NGOs in advancing social justice and protecting human rights. He highlighted how non-governmental organizations serve as bridges between society and institutions, advocating for policy changes and providing direct support to those in need.

The panel concluded with an engaging discussion, encouraging students, legal professionals, and community members to take an active role in promoting social justice.
