Prof. Dr. Milan Jazbec Delivers Guest Lecture on Diplomacy and International Private Law at IBU

The International Balkan University – Faculty of Law had the honor of hosting Prof. Dr. Milan Jazbec, a distinguished diplomat, professor, and former Ambassador of Slovenia, for a guest lecture within the International Private Law course.

 

The lecture was organized under the guidance of course instructor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natalija Shikova and Asst. Leposava Ognjanoska Stavrovska, PhD.

 

Prof. Dr. Jazbec’s lecture focused on the crucial role of diplomatic services in protecting citizens' rights, offering students a unique perspective on the intersection of diplomacy and international law.

 

Through his insights, he provided valuable real-world examples of how states safeguard their nationals abroad through diplomatic and consular services, helping students understand the concept of citizenship as central to International Private Law.

 

The engaging session sparked thought-provoking discussions among students, enriching their understanding of the legal frameworks governing citizenship and state responsibility.
