IBU Breaks New Ground with the Launch of the European Student Card

International Balkan University (IBU) is proud to offer the European Student Card (ESC) in North Macedonia, marking an important milestone in the country’s higher education sector. This development sets a benchmark for student mobility and international opportunities, paving the way for increased academic and cultural exchange across Europe.

The initiative was led by the International Relations Office (IRO) at IBU, with special thanks to the IBU Work@CampusProgram. We are particularly grateful to IRO intern Bunyamin Kucuk, whose determination and hard work were instrumental in bringing the ESC to IBU students.

The European Student Card is part of a broader European Union program designed to support student exchanges. With the ESC, IBU students going abroad will have access to the same services at the host university as local students, along with additional benefits such as discounts on travel, accommodation, and educational services across Europe, which are currently being developed.

By adopting the ESC, IBU is opening doors to a world of opportunities for its students, allowing them to take full advantage of the resources available through the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). The introduction of the European Student Card serves as a testament to the university’s commitment to providing its students with exceptional opportunities for academic and personal growth.

We look forward to seeing how this new initiative will enhance the IBU experience and contribute to the university's global reputation.
