The second dissemination event of the EMERGE project, "Empowering Sustainable Growth through Emerging Technologies in Serbia and North Macedonia," supported by the Western Balkans Mobility Scheme (WBMS) – a POLICY ANSWERS Pilot Programme, financed under Horizon Europe, took place at International Balkan University (IBU) Campus.
The seminar was organized as a side event of the InTraders Conference and gathered academic staff, students from IBU, guests from IES, representatives from other universities, as well as members of the industry sector.
The results of the EMERGE project were presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kristina Velickovska (IBU) and Dr. Petar Mitic (IES). In addition, two guest speakers shared their insights on the topic of artificial intelligence and sustainability: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Besime Ziberi from AAB College, Kosovo, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Afan Hasan, a representative of the IT industry.
During the event, a printed version of the policy brief developed within the project was distributed to all participants.
This successful event further reinforced the partnership between IBU and IES and highlighted the importance of cross-border academic and industry collaboration to drive sustainable development through emerging technologies in the Western Balkans.
