From April 24 to 27, 2025, the International Balkan University (IBU) in Skopje proudly hosted the 9th Balkan States Anesthesia Days Congress, organized by the Association of Specialist Doctors in Anesthesia and Resuscitation (ARUD). This year's congress centered around the theme "Disaster Preparedness in Anesthesia and Intensive Care." The event was supported by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).

The opening ceremony, held at the IBU Conference Hall, welcomed high-level guests, including Prof. Dr. Lutfi Sunar, Rector of IBU; H.E. Fatih Ulusoy, Ambassador of Türkiye to Skopje; Mr. Jovica Andovski, Deputy Minister of Health of North Macedonia; and many others.

During the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by Rector Sunar, Deputy Minister Andovski, and representatives of the congress, emphasizing the significance of disaster readiness in the fields of anesthesia and intensive care.

Representing IBU in the scientific program were Professional Associate Androniki Bibovska and Assistant Professor Dr. Darko Sazdov, MD, PhD, a specialist in anesthesia, resuscitation, and intensive care.

- Androniki Bibovska presented a lecture titled "Risk Assessment and Management in Operating Rooms."

- Dr. Darko Sazdov spoke on "Simulation Training and Preparedness of Nurses in Disaster Management."

As part of the congress activities, two workshops were conducted at the IBU Simulation Center: "Low-Flow Gas Anesthesia" and "Blockades in Regional Anesthesia".

The presentations by IBU's representatives sparked considerable interest and discussions. Notably, both Dr. Sazdov and Ms. Bibovska received invitations from neighboring countries to deliver further lectures on emergency and disaster preparedness for nurses.
