Gallipoli Wars Mobile Museum Opens Its Doors at International Balkan University

The Gallipoli Wars Mobile Museum officially opened its doors today at the International Balkan University (IBU) Campus, inviting visitors to experience the historical legacy of one of the most significant battles in history. The mobile museum, which will remain at IBU until May 13, 2025, is open daily from 09:00 to 17:00, offering a unique opportunity for students, staff, and the local community to explore the Gallipoli Wars through interactive and multimedia displays.

 

The mobile museum, initiated by the Directorate of Gallipoli Historical Site, has been traveling across Türkiye since 2020, reaching all 81 provinces and captivating hundreds of thousands of visitors with its detailed and engaging exhibits. Now, it brings the spirit of Gallipoli to Skopje, featuring seven chronologically organized showcases:

 

1. Ottoman Empire’s Entry into the War and Mobilization – Explore the strategic decisions and preparations that led the Ottoman Empire into World War I.

 

2. Soldiers’ Journey to the Frontlines – 9Witness the stories of brave soldiers as they embarked on their journey to Gallipoli.

 

3. The Allied Forces and Battlefield Conditions – Discover the intense conditions and key battles that defined the conflict.

 

4. The March 18 Triumph and Its Heroes – Relive the historic victory of March 18, along with the heroism of those who fought.

 

5. The Enemy’s Withdrawal from Land and Air – Follow the strategic retreat of opposing forces as the tides of war shifted.

 

6. Honoring the Soldiers and Commanders Who Sacrificed Everything – Pay tribute to the memories of those who gave their lives for their country.

 

7. Transformation of Battlefields Over Time – See how the once war-torn landscapes have evolved and been preserved as memorial sites.

 

LED screens throughout the museum narrate the war’s story from beginning to end, enriching the visitor experience with visual storytelling. On its first day at IBU, the museum attracted significant interest from students, faculty, and visitors eager to explore the impactful exhibits.

 

The Gallipoli Wars Mobile Museum will remain open at the IBU Campus until May 13, 2025. Visiting hours are from 09:00 to 17:00 daily, offering ample opportunity for history enthusiasts and the general public to reflect on the sacrifices and heroism that shaped the course of history.
