The official opening ceremony of the Gallipoli Wars Mobile Museum was held at the International Balkan University (IBU) campus, offering a remarkable opportunity to explore the historical legacy of one of the most significant battles in world history. The event was graced by prominent figures including the Ambassador of Türkiye to Skopje, H.E. Fatih Ulusoy, IBU Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, Chairman of the Gallipoli Historical Site, İsmail Kaşdemir, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of North Macedonia, Sedat Sulejmani, and Member of Parliament Munir Kolasinac. Also, in attendance were representatives from the Turkish Embassy, local politicians, diplomats, officials, and a group of primary school students.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Ulusoy, Rector Sunar, and Chairman Kaşdemir delivered speeches, focusing on the significance of the Gallipoli campaign and its historical importance. Rector Sunar expressed IBU’s pride in hosting such an important event, highlighting the university’s commitment to fostering cultural exchange and increasing historical awareness among students and the wider community.
Following the official speeches, the distinguished guests had the opportunity to visit the museum and explore its rich exhibits. The museum, which opened its doors to the public yesterday, takes visitors through a chronological journey of the Gallipoli Campaign, featuring seven detailed and immersive displays. These exhibits cover critical moments, from the Ottoman Empire’s entry into World War I to the transformation of the battlefields over time.
The Gallipoli Wars Mobile Museum, initiated by the Directorate of Gallipoli Historical Site, has already captivated audiences across Türkiye and is now available to the Skopje community. The museum will remain at IBU until May 13, 2025, offering daily visiting hours from 09:00 to 17:00. It provides a unique, interactive experience with multimedia storytelling and LED screens that bring to life the history of Gallipoli, making it a valuable educational resource for both IBU students and the general public.
