On the occasion of World Family Day, the Association for the Affirmation of Women (AAG), in collaboration with International Balkan University (IBU), successfully organized the First International Scientific Conference on Family, under the theme: "Family in the 21st Century – Identity and Development Challenges."

The conference brought together renowned researchers from various universities across the region, as well as from countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Türkiye, and Germany. Experts shared interdisciplinary perspectives on the challenges facing modern families in an era marked by globalization, digitalization, migration, and socio-economic crises.

The event commenced with an opening speech by AAG Chairwoman Mrs. Aishe Emini, who highlighted the importance of preserving family values as the cornerstone of society. Following her address, the Chairwoman of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Drita Mamuti Fazlija, and Dean of the Faculty of Education at IBU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Igballe Miftari-Fetishi, delivered welcoming remarks.

Prof. Miftari-Fetishi greeted the participants, expressing hope for a successful and insightful conference. She emphasized the critical role of the family as the primary institution for nurturing values in contemporary society and addressed the significant challenges faced by families in the 21st century. She also underscored IBU's tradition of hospitality and its commitment to hosting various academic events and gatherings that foster intellectual exchange and collaboration.

The conference featured keynote speeches from Prof. Dr. Sabina Belshaku and Prof. Dr. Enver Abdullah, who presented recent research findings on how modern developments are reshaping family dynamics, including gender roles, parental education, and the influence of technology.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to the members of the Scientific Committee, organizers, and supporters, particularly International Balkan University for its continuous commitment to collaboration and support for academic activities. Special appreciation was also extended to IBU Rector Prof. Dr. Lutfi Sunar for his unwavering support of academia, research, and scholarly gatherings.
