International Balkan University (IBU) has taken an important step toward strengthening ties between higher education and public institutions through the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of North Macedonia. The signing ceremony, held at the Ministry’s headquarters, underscored the mutual commitment of both parties to promoting academic advancement, research collaboration, and professional development.

Representing IBU at the event were the Rector, Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liza Alili Sulejmani, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at IBU. They were received by Deputy Minister Kaltrina Zekolli Shaqiri and members of her cabinet, reflecting the Ministry's support for institutional cooperation with academia.

The memorandum was formally signed by Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar on behalf of IBU, and by Deputy Minister Kaltrina Zekolli Shaqiri on behalf of the Ministry.

As the first university to formalize such an agreement with the Ministry of Transport of North Macedonia, IBU is pioneering a strategic partnership aimed at aligning academic programs with the evolving needs of the transport sector, public sector and economic development. The agreement outlines a framework for future collaboration, including student internships, joint research projects, and initiatives that incorporate practical learning experiences into academic programs.

This partnership aims to enhance the quality and relevance of higher education by bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. It is expected to better prepare students for professional roles across both the public and private sectors.

By establishing this cooperation, IBU reaffirms its dedication to building strategic partnerships that enrich the educational experience and support the ongoing development of its students, faculty, and the broader academic community.
