IBU Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar Participates in the International Congress on Higher Education in Türkiye

Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, Rector of International Balkan University (IBU), took an active role in the International Congress titled "Restructuring Higher Education in Türkiye: Innovations, Problems and Solution Proposals", held in İstanbul and jointly organized by Ibn Haldun University and the Educators' Union Syndicate (Eğitim-Bir-Sen).

 

The congress brought together prominent scholars, and higher education professionals from across Türkiye and abroad to address pressing issues and propose forward-looking strategies for reform in the higher education system. The event began with an official opening ceremony, featuring keynote speeches by distinguished guests, setting the tone for a day of comprehensive academic engagement.

 

The congress featured a total of 12 thematic sessions that explored various aspects of higher education from both local and global perspectives. Among the key topics discussed were:

 

- Higher Education in the 21st Century: Global Experiences, Local Solutions

- The Past, Present, and Future of the Higher Education System: The Philosophy of Higher Education

- A New Higher Education Law for the Century of Türkiye

- Career Systems in Higher Education

- The Future of Faculties of Education in Türkiye: Transformation of the Teacher Training System

- Quality and Global Positioning in Higher Education

- Universities in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Innovation

 

These sessions fostered rich academic dialogue and critical reflection on the direction of higher education policy and practice in Türkiye.

 

The congress concluded with a special closing session titled "Evaluation of the Higher Education System in Türkiye", during which Prof. Dr. Sunar contributed his insights and expertise.

 

Prof. Dr. Sunar’s participation underscored IBU's commitment to contributing to regional and international academic discourse, as well as its role in shaping progressive educational policies.
