As part of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (BIP) at International Balkan University, students participated in a full day of activities focused on sustainability and innovation. The program combined expert insights with student-led presentations, offering a rich exchange of ideas and practices from across Europe.
The event began with guest presentations from professionals working in the field of sustainability in North Macedonia. ProCredit Bank discussed how they support sustainable businesses through responsible financing. Macedonian representatives of EIT Food presented their work in accelerating innovation in the food sector to ensure a healthier and more sustainable future. Go Green, a long-standing local environmental organization, shared their activities and vision for a green future and explained how innovation can lead to long-term sustainability.
As a symbolic gesture, Go Green gifted each student a plantable seed card, encouraging them to take a small step toward a greener future.
Following the expert sessions, students presented overviews of sustainability practices in their home countries and regions, including Zagreb, Split, Knin, and Poland. In addition, local students introduced three additional local companies that are actively implementing circular economy concepts and integrating sustainability into their operations. These presentations allowed participants to learn from one another and reflect on diverse environmental strategies and challenges.
In the afternoon, students joined a guided sustainability walk through the city center. The tour introduced them to local eco-friendly initiatives, businesses, and public projects that promote environmental awareness.
