IBU Welcomes New First-Year Students with Informative Orientation Session

To help our newly registered first-year students start their academic journey on the right foot, IBU organized a comprehensive orientation session designed to address key aspects of university life. The session was held in English to ensure accessibility for all, especially our diverse group of international students.

The event began with a presentation of the university’s core rules and academic regulations. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ebru Ibish, Vice-Rector for Education, highlighted the responsibilities and expectations every student should be aware of during their studies at IBU.

A special focus was placed on the residence permit process, an essential step for international students settling into life in North Macedonia. Ms. Melisa Buqi from the Legal Affairs Office guided attendees through the application process, including the necessary documents and procedures.

Students were also introduced to the Hello System Module — a central platform they will be using throughout their time at IBU. Mr. Fidan Agushi and Mr. Emre Basdag from the Hello Team offered a practical overview, showing students how to log in, navigate their schedules, access learning materials, and communicate with instructors.

Ms. Arbnora Etemi, Head of the International Relations Office, presented the Erasmus+ opportunities, providing students with valuable information about available exchange programs, eligibility criteria, application procedures, and the benefits of studying abroad through this prestigious European Union initiative.

At IBU, we’re committed to supporting our students both inside and outside the classroom. Through this orientation, we aimed to provide our new first-year students with the clarity and confidence they need as they take their first steps into university life.
