A Strategic Partnership Agreement was signed between the IBU and YTU Yıldız Teknopark.

We are pleased to announce that the International Balkan University (IBU) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with YTU Yildiz Technopark, one of Türkiye’s and Europe’s leading technology and innovation ecosystems. Through this partnership, the YTU Yildiz Technopark Skopje Office will soon begin its operations on our campus, establishing a new hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the Balkans.

With international offices in London, Dubai, Tashkent, and Amsterdam, YTU Yildiz Technopark continues to expand its global network by sharing knowledge, experience, and technological expertise. The establishment of its Skopje office in cooperation with IBU marks another milestone in strengthening international collaboration and promoting regional economic and technological development.

The cooperation protocol was officially signed by Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, Rector of International Balkan University, and Prof. Dr. Eyüp Debik, Chairman of the Board of YTU Yildiz Technopark and Rector of Yildiz Technical University. The signing ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Garip, General Manager of YTU Yildiz Technopark, and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yılmaz, Vice-Rector of Yildiz Technical University. The newly established Skopje Office will serve as a regional base for YTU Yildiz Technopark’s international operations. Through this collaboration, Turkish companies and startups will have the opportunity to establish offices, implement projects, and build partnerships in North Macedonia, while benefiting from IBU’s academic, research, and technological infrastructure. This initiative will also allow entrepreneurs to access the Balkan market more efficiently, supported by the innovation-friendly environment of our university.

Following the signing ceremony, the delegation was given a tour of our campus, where they were introduced to IBU’s academic and research facilities. During the visit, both institutions discussed potential areas of cooperation in detail, reaffirming their shared commitment to innovation and knowledge exchange.

Commenting on the occasion, Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar stated:

“As International Balkan University, we are committed to supporting every initiative that contributes to the regional innovation ecosystem and fosters entrepreneurship and technology-driven growth. This collaboration with YTU Yildiz Technopark will create new opportunities by bridging academia and the entrepreneurial world.”
