The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at International Balkan University (IBU) hosted an engaging edition of the EconLit Coffee Talks, organized by the Liberal Alternative Institute and the Economic Fundamentals Initiative (EFI). Held on 4 November 2025 at IBU, the event was part of the regional EconLit Caravan and the Economic Literacy Program (ELP), dedicated to enhancing economic understanding and encouraging open dialogue among young people across the region.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liza Alili Sulejmani, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, delivered a thought-provoking talk on “Fiscal Policy and Government Spending.” She discussed how responsible fiscal policies can drive sustainable growth, promote social equity, and expand opportunities for youth in North Macedonia, emphasizing the importance of transparency, education, and youth participation in shaping national economic strategies.
Moderated by Anida Rakipi, the session successfully bridged economic theory with real-world challenges, addressing topics such as post-pandemic recovery, global fiscal trends, and the green transition. Participants were also introduced to the book “Common Sense Economics”, available for free download in English, Macedonian, and Albanian via QR codes shared during the event
