We were pleased to welcome Mrs. Melita Ymeraga, Founder and CEO of Melita & Partners, to BISTLAB | Balkan Economy and Finance Laboratory, where she delivered a comprehensive and insightful presentation for students of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. The lecture was organized on the occasion of the company’s 15th anniversary and offered an in-depth look at the growing importance of digital accounting in contemporary financial practice.
In her presentation, Mrs. Ymeraga introduced key concepts related to the digitalization of financial processes, highlighting major benefits, emerging trends, and the evolving organizational structures shaping the future of the accounting sector. She also familiarized students with leading digital accounting platforms—Dext, QuickBooks, and Xero—providing an overview of their features and their increasing relevance in the global marketplace.
A significant portion of the session was dedicated to QuickBooks, one of the world’s most widely used digital accounting tools. Through a live demonstration, students observed how QuickBooks optimizes financial management through automated bookkeeping, invoice processing, expense tracking, payroll management, and real-time financial reporting. Mrs. Ymeraga emphasized the platform’s integration capabilities, user-friendly interface, and suitability for both small and growing businesses, enabling students to understand its practical application and value in everyday accounting operations.
At the conclusion of the event, a digital spinning-wheel selection awarded one FEAS student a scholarship for complimentary QuickBooks training, providing a valuable opportunity to further develop in-demand digital accounting competencies.
We extend our sincere appreciation to Melita & Partners for their visit, their highly informative presentation, and their continued support for the professional growth and digital skill development of our students.
