We organized a Research Design Clinic titled “Mastering SPSS: Practical Techniques for Empirical Research” through our BISTLAB, bringing together Master’s and PhD students from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences for a focused learning experience that strengthened our research-driven academic culture. By creating a space where postgraduate students and young researchers could work directly with applied tools and methodological approaches, we reinforced our commitment to supporting high-quality empirical research and ensuring that our students are equipped to produce rigorous, evidence-based academic work aligned with international standards.
Led by Assoc. Prof. Luljeta Sadiku, the clinic concentrated on practical SPSS applications essential for empirical research, with particular emphasis on structured data entry and applied statistical analysis. Through hands-on guidance and an interactive workshop format, we supported participants in developing stronger competence in managing datasets, selecting appropriate analytical techniques, and interpreting outputs in a way that strengthens the credibility and clarity of research findings. This applied approach allowed our students to connect theory with practice, build confidence in using quantitative methods, and directly advance their thesis work and ongoing research projects with more precise, disciplined, and analytically sound procedures.
The clinic once again reflected our continued commitment to fostering research capacity and analytical competence among postgraduate students and young researchers, while contributing to a university environment where inquiry, innovation, and academic excellence are actively cultivated. By investing in research design support and methodological training, we empower our students to engage more deeply with their fields, produce impactful scholarship, and develop skills that are valuable both in academia and in professional settings that demand data-driven decision-making. We will continue to expand opportunities through BISTLAB that strengthen methodological readiness, encourage interdisciplinary thinking, and support our community of emerging researchers as they move confidently toward publication, completion, and broader academic contribution.
