We had the pleasure of hosting a distinguished guest lecture as part of the Jean Monnet Project “EU and Western Balkans,” welcoming Dr. sc. Rebeka Mesarić Žabčić, Scientific Advisor at the Institute of Social Sciences Ivo Pilar in Zagreb, Croatia. Through this valuable academic exchange, we further strengthened our commitment to international collaboration and interdisciplinary dialogue, creating meaningful opportunities for our academic community to engage with contemporary regional issues that directly impact both policy and society.
During her lecture titled “Current Demographic Trends in the EU and Western Balkans: Croatia, North Macedonia, Turkey,” Dr. Mesarić Žabčić delivered comprehensive insights into migration processes, diaspora dynamics, and the evolving demographic landscape of the region. By addressing key developments and emerging challenges, we facilitated a deeper understanding of how demographic shifts influence economic, social, and political contexts, enriching the academic experience of our students and supporting critical thinking within our learning environment.
The event, held at the Blue Amphitheatre, brought together students, researchers, and practitioners in a dynamic setting that encouraged active participation and intellectual exchange. We value such initiatives as essential components of our mission to promote quality education, research-driven learning, and global perspectives. We sincerely thank Dr. Mesarić Žabčić for her inspiring contribution and all participants for their engagement, as we continue to foster impactful academic platforms that connect our community with relevant regional and international discussions.
