We proudly hosted an Immersive Technology Workshop on Metaverse, offering our Computer Engineering students a hands-on exploration of the future of computing on our campus. Through this dynamic session, we created an engaging learning environment where participants were introduced to cutting-edge concepts and practical applications that are shaping the next generation of digital experiences. By focusing on immersive technologies, we reinforced our commitment to equipping our students with forward-thinking knowledge and skills aligned with the rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Led by Asst. Amra Abazi Feta and Damir Ramani, the workshop provided an in-depth experience covering key areas such as VR fundamentals and 3D navigation using Meta Quest 2, as well as the broader ecosystem of the Metaverse, immersive user experience, and Web 3.0. We also explored the integration of artificial intelligence with virtual reality, including the development of AI-powered avatars, alongside an interactive office simulation that allowed students to experience the workplace of the future in real time. Through these activities, we successfully bridged the gap between theoretical learning and practical implementation, enabling students to actively engage with advanced technologies.

We were inspired by the enthusiasm, curiosity, and innovative mindset demonstrated by our students throughout the workshop, which reflects the strong academic culture we continue to foster at IBU. By organizing such forward-looking initiatives, we further strengthen our role in promoting innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and student development in emerging technological fields. We remain dedicated to creating impactful educational experiences and look forward to supporting our students as they continue to explore and shape the future of immersive technologies.
