Turkish Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Delegation Visits IBU, Praises Its Excellence in Education and Research

A distinguished delegation from the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye (TBMM) paid a visit to the International Balkan University (IBU), with the goal of strengthening ties and celebrating the university's impressive strides in education and research.

 

Led by Mr. Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Committee of Foreign Affairs and a Member of Parliament, the delegation received a warm and cordial welcome from Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, Rector of IBU. The delegation included esteemed MPs Derya Bakbak, Ali Şahin, and Talih Özcan, among other notable committee members.

 

The ambassador of Republic of Türkiye H.E. Fatih Ulusoy was also present in this meeting.

 

Rector Sunar, accompanied by key IBU figures such as Asst. Prof. Dr. Seyhan Murtezan Ibrahimi, the Vice-Rector, Mr. Metin Celil, the Secretary General, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Lökçe, Coordinator of the IBU Lifelong Learning Center, provided a comprehensive overview of the university's impressive achievements.

 

Highlighting IBU's cutting-edge contributions to the academic world, Sunar elaborated on the institution’s latest investments in various research and educational facilities. Among these are the state-of-the-art Balkan Laboratories, the IBU HalkBank Library, the Balkan Dental Clinic, and the InnoX Innovation Center, all of which contribute to the university's reputation for excellence.

 

Sunar also discussed the university's impressive infrastructure, including the Faculty of Art and Design studios, the Balkan Information Technology Loft (BIT Loft), and the Lifelong Learning Center, which offer an enriching environment for both students and faculty.

 

In his remarks, Rector Sunar emphasized that IBU has made significant advancements in its education quality, positioning the university as one of the top institutions not only in North Macedonia but in the entire region.

 

Members of the Turkish parliamentary delegation, led by Mr. Fuat Oktay, expressed their admiration for IBU's impressive campus, facilities, and commitment to providing top-tier education.

 

Mr. Oktay particularly highlighted the university’s contributions to the academic community, noting how IBU stands out as a beacon of educational excellence in the region.

 

Mr. Oktay also offered his full support for IBU, reaffirming that he would remain a steadfast ally and would provide assistance in any capacity necessary to further the university’s mission.
