Prof. Dr. Kire Sharlamanov followed with a thought-provoking presentation on the sociological aspects of gender roles. He explored labor dynamics and feminist theories in sociology. His analysis provided a deeper understanding of the cultural context that shapes gender discrimination.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Ebru Ibish brought the discussion to an urgent and alarming issue: femicides. Her speech delved into the reasons behind the rising rates of femicides, the lack of an adequate legal framework to protect women, and the various types of femicide that occur globally.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Mare Ushkovska addressed the representation of women in politics. She provided valuable statistics on the regional averages of women in national parliaments, with a particular focus on women in European and Macedonian politics. Prof. Ushkovska argued that increased representation is essential for enacting policies that promote gender equality and protect women's rights.
This event not only highlighted the importance of women’s rights but also sought to raise awareness about the pressing challenges women face today.
