Rector's Board

Rector’s Board constitutes of the Rector, Vice-rectors, Deans of the Faculties, Directors of Institutes and Schools, and representatives of the Student Parliament. The Secretary General of the University shall participate in the Rector’s Board as a reporter without having the right to vote. For certain issues of importance for the University, the other members of the University can participate in Rector’s Board Meetings, if they are invited.

About

 

Rector's Board, within its competences, shall:

 

1. Review and provide recommendations on the study programmes of the faculties.

 

2. Review and provide opinions on the study and course programmes for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies of the first, second and third cycles of higher education which the University organizes directly.

 

3. Decide on interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary scientific research projects.

 

4. Elect the Secretary General of the University upon the Rector’s proposal and, upon the same proposal, discharge him/her.

 

5. Select two members of the Inter-University Conference by secret voting.

 

6. Ensure the proper functioning of the faculties within the University.

 

7. Make decisions on the organization of organizations and organizational units of the University.

 

8. Make decisions regarding the University’s current international cooperation.

 

9. Organize the issuance of diplomas and other documents for completed studies.

 

10. Propose initiatives for the merging or division of faculties within the University.

 

11. Propose initiatives for the termination of certain existing faculties or higher professional schools of the University and their possible transformation into other higher education institutions.

 

12. Announce and organize enrollments for the first, second and third cycles of higher education.

 

13. Decide on the publishing activities of the University.

 

14. Perform other functions as defined by the Statute of the University or for which the Rector is authorized.

 

15. The Rector has the right to veto a decision of the Rector’s Board when he/she considers it to be in the interest of the University.

 

16. The Senate and the Management Board of the University shall decide on disputed matters.

 

17. Enact final decisions on disciplinary procedures towards staff and students.
