We proudly organized a dynamic presentation of student projects in the field of architecture and urbanism in cooperation with the Municipality of Dojran, reinforcing our commitment to practice-based learning and meaningful community engagement. Held on April 3rd at the premises of the Municipality of Dojran, the event brought together our talented students, academic staff, local authorities, and interested stakeholders to explore forward-thinking design solutions. Through their work developed within the Integrative Studio course, our students demonstrated strong analytical approaches and creative vision, focusing on improving urban spaces and enhancing the spatial quality of Dojran.
We were especially proud to showcase projects centered on the concept of a floating pedestrian and cycling path, envisioned as an innovative infrastructural element and a potential new landmark for the area. Under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Andovski and Asst. Msc Isra Asani, our students translated theoretical knowledge into impactful design proposals. The event was honored by the presence of the Mayor of Dojran, Ilija Tentov, alongside his professional team and potential investors, whose engagement highlighted the real-world relevance and future potential of our students’ ideas. The participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marija Miloshovska Janakieski, Head of the Department of Architecture, and Asst. MA Harika Shehabi further emphasized our academic dedication to excellence and innovation.
In addition to the presentations, we enriched the learning experience through a site visit conducted as part of the Urban Planning 1 course, allowing our students to directly engage with the local environment and deepen their understanding of its spatial, environmental, and social context. Through such initiatives, we continue to bridge academic knowledge with practical application, empowering our students to develop sustainable and context-sensitive solutions. We remain committed to strengthening our collaboration with local institutions and fostering innovative thinking that contributes to the development of communities and the future of urban design.
