We continue to reinforce our commitment to practice-oriented legal education through a series of impactful activities organized within the students’ section of our IBU Legal Clinic. On April 29, we hosted a comprehensive case-based event under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natalija Shikova, Asst. Ömer Cem Ulutaş, and Asst. Mirza Demiri, where our students Fatmagül Köksal, Sevim Can Meray, Mesut Han Madran, and Melike İplikçi delivered an in-depth presentation exploring the psychological and legal dimensions of homicide cases. By addressing complex topics such as the motivations of serial offenders and the underlying causes of criminal behavior, we created a dynamic academic environment that combined legal reasoning with psychological insight, reflecting our interdisciplinary approach to education.
We were especially proud to see strong engagement from our academic community, as the event attracted not only students from the Faculty of Law but also participants from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, particularly from the Psychology study program. Through this collaborative atmosphere, we encouraged meaningful dialogue, critical thinking, and active participation, enabling our students to approach legal issues from multiple perspectives. This initiative reflects our ongoing efforts to foster intellectual curiosity, analytical depth, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, which are essential components of contemporary legal education.
In addition to theoretical discussions, we further enhanced our students’ professional development through hands-on training sessions as part of our Legal Clinic’s practical activities. Our law students participated in a case-focused training on power of attorney in real estate sale contracts, conducted by Legal Clinic members Dina Hasikj and Todora Pavlovska. Through guided instruction and real-case scenarios, we enabled our students to develop essential legal drafting skills and gain valuable experience in applying theoretical knowledge to practical situations. By continuously integrating experiential learning opportunities into our curriculum, we remain dedicated to preparing our students for the demands of the legal profession and supporting their growth as competent and socially responsible future practitioners.
