As part of its faculty-based professional development initiatives, the IBU Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) successfully organized the Communication and Conflict Resolutions Workshop for faculty members and teaching assistants of the Faculty of Law during February. The workshop provided a productive and enjoyable learning environment, marked by strong interest and active participation from the attendees.
The workshop was facilitated by Mia Kostovska and Hatice Muci Ameti. The program focused on the fundamental principles of effective communication in academic settings, methods for giving and receiving constructive feedback, and strategies for analyzing and resolving conflict situations. Particular emphasis was placed on practical approaches to preventing and managing communication-related challenges that may arise among faculty members, teaching assistants, and students within the university environment.
In addition to theoretical input, the workshop included interactive activities and group work that enabled participants to gain hands-on experience. These practical exercises provided valuable tools to help participants develop more effective and constructive communication with both their colleagues and students.
At the end of the workshop, participants expressed that the training was highly beneficial in terms of both content and methodology, highlighting the importance of faculty-specific and practice-oriented professional development activities in enhancing the quality of the academic environment. The engaging and supportive atmosphere encouraged experience sharing and contributed to strengthening academic collaboration within the faculty.
The IBU Teaching and Learning Center plans to continue offering faculty-based training programs aimed at supporting the pedagogical and professional development of academic staff in the coming months. These workshops will continue to contribute to fostering a strong culture of communication and promoting a healthier and more collaborative academic working environment across the university.
